Briole is not a pretty place. It isn’t a grand city or a place to seek one’s fortune, and it
certainly isn’t a repository of magical lore. But it is home.
Warrior Kurt Hargrove has shut himself off from the outside world, the pain of battle
weighing heavily on his shoulders. But when his beloved town of Briole is attacked by undead
beasts, he must learn to overcome his past trauma to save his home and protect everything he
loves.
Aided by his lifelong friend and Briole’s captain of the guard, Aldon Varison, Kurt
undertakes a perilous journey south to enlist the aid of their former comrades, the dwarves of
Polstan, and their mighty boar riders.
A fateful encounter on the road with a mysterious elf woman brings the pair face to face
with a dangerous assassin known only as the guildsman. With the woman’s aid, they uncover a
connection between the undead beasts and a conflict between the ruling houses of the faraway
city of Chavara.
Can the three fight to make it to Polstan, return in time to save Briole, and break the
Siege of Chavara?
